Four racks of nine letters, forty-five seconds each — and the relay alternates, so every other word must come from your partner’s phone. Play long, don’t repeat, and pass only when you’re truly dry: two passes in a row folds the rack.

How to play

1. Nine letters, forty-five seconds a rack — four racks in the run.
2. STRICT turns: you play a word, then your partner must, then you.
3. Any real word of three letters or more, spelled from the rack. No repeats on a rack.
4. A word scores its length; spending all nine letters at once scores 18.
5. Stuck? Pass the baton — it costs nothing. But two passes in a row folds the rack.
6. Team points, then longest word: that is the pair score the world sees.
