The rules, step by step
- Each turn: play one card or discard one, then draw one. Always eight in hand.
- An expedition’s numbers must climb. A 4 after a 7 is gone for good.
- Wagers double what an expedition finally scores — but only if played before any number.
- Discards are face up and your rival can take them. Throwing away is never free.
- An expedition scores its cards minus 20, times its wagers. Eight cards takes a 20 bonus.
- The round ends the moment the last card leaves the deck. Best total over three rounds.
Scoring and the fiddly bits
The deck
Sixty cards: five expeditions numbered 2 to 10, with three wagers each. There is no 1 — the wagers hold that end.
A turn, in order
Play one card or discard one, then draw one — from the deck, or from the top of any discard pile. You always finish the turn holding eight.
Your own throw is off limits
You cannot pick straight back up the card you just discarded this turn; anything older is fair game for either player.
The last card
Emptying the deck ends the round immediately, mid-hand. Cards still in either hand count for nothing.
The weekly camp
One shared tableau, one shared discard row, and a single round against the deck. Every pair gets one run per week.
