The rules, step by step
- Nine letters, forty-five seconds a rack — four racks in the run.
- STRICT turns: you play a word, then your partner must, then you.
- Tap tiles to spell any real word of three letters or more. No repeats on a rack.
- A word scores its length; spending all nine letters at once scores 18.
- Stuck? Pass the baton — it costs nothing. But two passes in a row folds the rack.
- Team points, then longest word: that is the pair score the world sees.
Scoring and the fiddly bits
The clock
Forty-five seconds a rack, four racks in a run. The deadline is stamped by the server, so a phone that thinks it is late cannot fold the rack early.
Strict turns
A word from the wrong phone is refused outright. The baton flips on every accepted word and on every pass.
Scoring
A word scores its length; all nine letters at once scores 18. Repeats on the same rack are refused rather than scored zero.
Folding a rack
Two passes in a row with no word between them close the rack and open the next. That is what “both of us are dry” means.
One run a week
The racks are generated from the ISO week and stay hidden until you start the clock. Each player gets one pair run and one solo run.
