The short version
Effective 28 September 2026. These terms are the agreement between you and Table Party (“we”, “us”) for tableparty.io and the Table Party app. Playing is free. Be kind to the people at your table, don’t cheat, and only share what you have the right to share. Paid extras are explained plainly below, subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you can cancel any time. By playing, making an account or buying anything, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Table Party.
Who can play
You need to be at least 13 to use Table Party. If you are under 18, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to buy anything. Some decks are marked 18+; they are for adults only, stay off unless a host switches them on, and shouldn’t be switched on at a table with anyone under 18.
Your name, photo and what you make
You choose the name and photo you play under, and you keep ownership of what you type, draw and say in games. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, display and send it as needed to run Table Party: showing it to your table and to a big screen your table opens, putting it in results and share cards you choose to make, and, in ranked games, replaying a finished run as a “ghost” for later players under the display name and rating it was set under. That permission ends when the content is deleted, except for copies other players already saved or shared. Only upload photos and content you have the right to use, and never a photo of someone else without their permission.
Play fair and be kind
Please don’t:
- harass, threaten or abuse other players, or post hateful, sexual or violent content aimed at them;
- post anything sexual involving a minor, or anything illegal;
- pretend to be someone else, or use a name or photo that is offensive;
- cheat: word solvers, scripts, bots, or extra devices or accounts used to win or to move a rating;
- scrape, overload, break or reverse-engineer the service, or get around a limit or a payment;
- resell or sublicense Table Party, or use it to send spam or advertising.
If something breaks these rules, we can remove or hide it, change a name, reset or withhold scores and ratings (including keeping runs out of rankings and ghost pools without notice), and limit or end access. To report a problem, email hi@tableparty.io.
Ranked play, ratings and leaderboards
Ranked opponents may be recordings of earlier players’ runs or computer-controlled players, and daily and weekly boards may include computer-generated entries alongside real ones. Ratings, ranks, trophies and leaderboards are for fun: they have no cash value, and we may recalculate, adjust or reset them, for example after fixing a bug or removing a cheat.
Buying things
Prices and payment. Prices are shown in US dollars before you pay, plus any tax that applies. On the website, Stripe processes payments; in the iPhone app, Apple processes them under Apple’s own terms. Promo codes can be used once unless they say otherwise, have no cash value and may expire.
Table Party Plus is a monthly subscription. It renews automatically each month at the price shown when you subscribed until you cancel. Cancel any time from the Plus sheet (Manage your plan); Plus stays on until the end of the month you have paid for, and part-months aren’t refunded.
Teams rooms are subscriptions for a company or group. A free trial becomes a paid monthly plan when it ends unless the organizer cancels first. The organizer can cancel any time in the room’s Settings (Manage billing); the room stays paid to the end of the current period. The organizer is responsible for the plan and for who they invite, and each plan includes the camera hours described on the plan and the support page.
One-time unlocks (celebrations and any premium game) give you a personal licence to use that item in Table Party. They belong to the device you bought on and, if you verify an email account, to that account. A premium game opens for everyone at a table while an owner is seated. “Keep it forever” means for as long as we offer that item; if we ever retire a paid item, we’ll tell you first and refund you where the law requires. Digital items have no cash value and can’t be transferred, sold or exchanged for money.
Refunds. Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires, but if something went wrong, email hi@tableparty.io and we will look at every request. Purchases made through Apple are refunded by Apple.
Price changes. If the price of a subscription changes, we’ll tell you before the new price applies, and you can cancel before it does.
If you live in the EU or UK, you have a 14-day right to cancel a purchase. When you buy a one-time unlock, you ask us to deliver it straight away and agree that this right ends once it is delivered. If you cancel a new subscription within 14 days of first paying, we’ll refund you, less a fair amount for the time you already used.
Our games and content
Table Party’s software, games, art, text and sounds belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them to play; Teams subscribers may also use them for their organisation’s own events. Some of our games are credited as “inspired by” another game. Those names are trademarks of their owners; Table Party is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by them.
Other services
Some features use other companies’ services, and their terms apply to those services: Google Maps and Street View in Somewhere (see the Somewhere terms), Stripe for web payments, Apple for the iPhone app and its purchases, and Slack if a Teams host connects it. Video and audio in Teams rooms go directly between players’ browsers; we don’t record them, and what people say or show on camera is their own responsibility.
The iPhone app
These terms are between you and Table Party, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to maintain or support the app and is not responsible for claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you as they relate to the app.
Changes and ending
Games change: we add, redesign and retire them, and parts of the service may sometimes be unavailable. You can stop using Table Party at any time, and delete your account from your profile (see the privacy policy). We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers and limits of liability) continue to apply.
Disclaimers and limits
Table Party is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running, but we don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose, and we aren’t responsible for what other players say, draw or show.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim relating to Table Party is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of the place you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and its effective date. If a change matters for a paid plan, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it applies. Continuing to use Table Party after a change means you accept it.
