Every game here is typed or tapped, so nothing needs saying out loud. Send an invite link in the chat, they tap it, and the two of you are on the same board while the conversation carries on above the game.
Word Chain, Nine Letters and Anagram Relay are the five-minute ones — built for exactly two phones and scored as a pair, which makes them a better dare than another meme. Boggle stretches to a whole group chat: everyone hunts the same grid, and duplicate words score nothing.
For something slower, Crack the Code is a silent race on the same secret code, Secret Codes turns typed one-word clues into the whole game, and Word Tiles is the full board for when you have the evening.

Questions about Games to play over text
How does a game start from a text?
One of you opens a game and sends the invite link in the chat. Tapping it joins the room straight from the thread — the code travels in the link, nothing to copy.
Do any of these need talking?
No. Every clue is typed and every move is a tap, which is the point — they work mid-conversation, on mute, or in a group chat at midnight.
Which is quickest?
Word Chain and Nine Letters run about five minutes. Anagram Relay is the same size but stricter — every other word has to come from your partner.
Can a whole group chat play?
Boggle takes up to twelve people from a single link, and Word Tiles seats four. The rest are built for two — the group chat makes a decent tournament bracket.
