Bluff It rules

A card with one true meaning goes up, everyone writes a fake meant to pass for it, and the votes pay out for lies believed and truths found.

Bluff It is for 3–12 players and takes about 10–15 min. A real card goes up — a weird word, an acronym, an animal, a film nobody has seen. It has one true meaning, and nobody in the room has it.

The rules, step by step

  1. A real card goes up — a weird word, an acronym, an animal, a film nobody has seen. It has one true meaning, and nobody in the room has it.
  2. Everyone secretly writes a definition they hope will pass for the real one. Short and plain beats clever — the truth is short and plain too.
  3. Every fake goes up with the truth shuffled in among them, and nobody is told who wrote what.
  4. Vote for the one you think came off the card. You cannot vote for your own.
  5. 100 points for every player your lie catches, and 200 for finding the truth yourself.
  6. Write what the card actually says and it is a dead ringer: 300 points, and you sit that vote out.
  7. Ten decks, and the host picks which ones are in — from obscure words to jobs that no longer exist.
  8. Or bring your own: with Your Own Words on, one of you types a real word and its meaning each round, in any language, and sits that round out. 200 to them if nobody finds the truth.

Yes. Every game on Table Party is free, with no accounts, no adverts and nothing to buy.

How many people do you need for Bluff It?

Between 3 and 12. Below 3 there are not enough of you for the game to work.

Do we need to download anything?

No. One person opens the site and starts a room; everybody else joins by typing the room code on their own phone. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.
