What Dead Wrong is
Trivia on the midnight train. Answer wrong and Edgar the conductor takes you to the Baggage Car for a deadly little game. The dead keep playing as ghosts, and can snatch the golden ticket in the race to the engine.
How to play Dead Wrong
- Edgar the conductor reads each question aloud. Tap one of four answers before the clock runs out; no answer counts as wrong. Every right answer earns $1,000, for the living and the dead.
- A wrong answer sends you to the Baggage Car for a quick deadly game: poisoned tea, a scratch ticket, falling luggage. The passengers who answered right, and every ghost, play against you there. If every living passenger is right twice running (three times at a table of three), Edgar sends them all anyway.
- Lose and you become a ghost. Ghosts keep answering, keep earning and keep playing against the living, so nobody sits out.
- The final comes after nine questions, or sooner if the Baggage Car leaves one passenger alive (after at least three games) or none (before question five, Edgar replays that game once instead). One passenger goes into the final alive and holds the golden ticket: if several are still alive, the Last Ticket draws one and the rest become ghosts; if nobody is, the richest ghost comes back to life.
- The final is a race to the engine. Each question shows a category and three items: tap the ones that belong and leave the rest. Every item you get right moves you one carriage closer. The ticket holder starts 12 carriages out and sees only two of the three items; ghosts start further back (the three richest a little closer) and see all three.
- Only the ticket holder can reach the engine: ghosts stop one carriage short. A ghost who catches up with the holder, or passes them, snatches the ticket: the ghost comes back to life and the holder becomes a ghost.
- After the second question the rear carriages start to uncouple, two carriages a question, and anyone still on them is out of the race. If the ticket holder is caught by it, the ghost closest to the engine takes the ticket.
- Within two carriages of the engine, its door is locked: the holder sees all three items and needs all three right to reach the engine, pull the brake and win. Anything less sends them back a carriage. After 12 final questions the train arrives anyway, and whoever holds the ticket wins.
