What Fake Answers is
Everyone secretly answers a prompt about someone in the room. Then you all vote on the funniest one. Points for laughs.
A chore they pretend is harder than it is, the boy band they’d be the quiet one in — the prompts are built around one player, so knowing the person beats being funny in the abstract. Whoever the prompt names writes an answer about themselves along with everybody else.
A vote is worth 100 points and winning the round is worth 200 more, split when two answers tie at the top. The bonus is exactly two votes’ worth, so a strong second place stays in touch and no single round runs away with the game.
Three players leaves you two answers to choose between and everyone can work out who wrote what. Twelve turns the ballot into a wall, and the game becomes finding the one line that cuts through it.

How to play Fake Answers
- A prompt appears with one of your friends’ names in it.
- Everyone secretly types their funniest answer before the clock runs out — or taps 🎲 to let the house write one.
- Then you all vote for the answer you love most. You can’t vote for your own.
- 100 points per vote, plus a bonus for winning the round.
How to win at Fake Answers
Write for the person
An answer only somebody who knows them could have written will out-vote a better joke every time.
Keep it to one breath
Long answers die halfway down a ballot the room is skim-reading.
Chase votes, not the win
The round bonus is worth two votes, so an answer that takes a third of the room is a good round.
Avoid the obvious angle
Two people who land on the same joke split a vote either of them could have taken alone.
When it is about you, be unkind
An answer at your own expense reads as the honest one, and the room votes for the honest one.
Questions about Fake Answers
Does the person named in the prompt answer it too?
Yes, and there’s no way out of it. They write about themselves like everybody else and their answer goes into the ballot unmarked — hiding in the pile is half the fun of being picked.
How does Fake Answers score?
100 points for every vote your answer draws, plus 200 for winning the round. Two answers tied at the top take 100 each, so a tie is never worth more than a clean win.
How is Fake Answers different from Quip Battle?
Fake Answers puts one prompt in front of the whole room and names a real player in it. Quip Battle deals everyone two prompts and turns each one into a head-to-head between two answers.
What happens if somebody leaves mid-game?
Their answers stay in play and keep their points. Any later prompt that would have named them is redealt around whoever is still at the table.
Is Fake Answers free?
Yes. Every game on Table Party is free, with no accounts, no adverts and nothing to buy.
How many people do you need for Fake Answers?
Between 3 and 12. Below 3 there are not enough of you for the game to work.
Do we need to download anything?
No. One person opens the site and starts a room; everybody else joins by typing the room code on their own phone. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.
