What Herd Think is
No right answers, only popular ones. Write what you think everyone else will write — and pray you’re not the odd one out.
Every question has a dozen fair answers and one obvious one. “Name a yellow fruit” is not asking your opinion; it is asking what the six people in front of you are about to type on their own phones.
Matching answers are gathered into groups and the biggest group takes a point each. Two groups tied at the top and nobody scores at all — a table split down the middle is two herds, which is none.
Then there is the Pink Cow. Answer alone while everybody else agrees with each other and it lands on you: it costs no points, it simply refuses to let you over the winning line until somebody else stands out.
Why play Herd Think here
Type, don’t shout
Answers land on your own phone, so twelve people can answer at once and the reveal is the first time anyone sees who matched.
The Pink Cow is in
Answer alone while everyone else agrees and it sits on you — no points lost, but you cannot cross the winning line until it moves.
Same room or a video call
Nothing to install and no sign-up. Share the room code in the chat and the whole call plays from their own screens.

How to play Herd Think
- Everyone answers the same question, trying to match the crowd — not to be clever.
- Matching answers are grouped. The biggest herd all score a point.
- Answer alone while everyone else agrees and you are handed the Pink Cow.
- The Pink Cow moves on when somebody else stands out — but you cannot win while holding it.
- First to eight points takes it, cow permitting.
How to win at Herd Think
Boring is correct
The first answer that came to you is usually the one four other people also thought of, and that is the entire game.
Answer as the table, not as you
You are predicting a room, so the honest answer loses to the one your particular friends would give.
Write the plain spelling
Case, accents and punctuation are folded away, but “hotdog” and “hot dog” never meet, so use the ordinary form.
A messy round is a safe round
The cow only lands when everyone else agreed with each other, so a three-way split leaves it exactly where it was.
The cow outranks the lead
Somebody one point from the target while holding it is not a threat, because they cannot win until it moves on.
Questions about Herd Think
What happens if two answers tie for the biggest group?
Nobody scores. The herd has to actually be a herd, so an even split pays out to neither side and the table moves straight on to the next question.
How close do two answers have to be to match?
Case, accents, punctuation and a leading “a” or “the” are all ignored, and a trailing “s” drops when four letters or more survive — so “socks” meets “sock”. Synonyms and different spellings never merge.
How does the Pink Cow move?
It goes to whoever answered alone while everybody else agreed with each other, and stays with them until another round produces exactly that split.
What if the leader is holding the cow when the game ends?
They are stepped over. The win goes to the highest score not holding the cow, and anyone tied underneath shares it.
Is Herd Think free?
Yes. Every game on Table Party is free, with no accounts, no adverts and nothing to buy.
How many people do you need for Herd Think?
Between 3 and 12. Below 3 there are not enough of you for the game to work. Table Party for Teams seats up to 100 in one room.
Do we need to download anything?
No. One person opens the site and starts a room; everybody else joins by typing the room code on their own phone. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.
Can we play Herd Think over a video call?
