Open loud. Fake Answers, Herd Think and Quip Battle are all answer-and-vote, all fifteen minutes or under, and none of them has a rule that needs explaining — which is what you want while somebody is still hunting for their camera and two people have not spoken yet.
Then spend the attention you have just bought. Bad Drawings runs ten to twenty minutes and Spectrum ten to fifteen, and both are one person making something the rest of the room then has to interpret. They are the longest things here, so they go while everyone is sharp.
Then change gear. Imposter and Undercover stop the typing and turn the room on itself — one word each, then questions across the table. Picture Stories ends it quietly: one clue, a picture each, nobody shouting.
Eight, in the order to play them
Playing in under a minute
- 1One person opens tableparty.io on a phone or a laptop and picks a game.
- 2Everyone else types the four-letter room code on their own phone. Nothing to install.
- 3Play. Anything secret stays on your own screen, so it works across a table or a video call.
Questions about Virtual game night
How long is the whole run?
Seventy-five minutes to two hours for all eight at these lengths. If you have less than that, drop one game from each stage rather than cutting the end off — the ending is the part people remember.
Do we have to play all eight?
No. Take one from each stage and you still have the shape. The stage to keep is the deduction one: three rounds of answer-and-vote in a row start to flatten out, and Imposter or Undercover is what stops that.
What if people are still arriving?
Fake Answers, Herd Think, Quip Battle, Spectrum, Imposter and Undercover all seat twelve, so the opening stretch absorbs latecomers. Bad Drawings and Picture Stories both cap at eight, so hold those until the door has stopped going.
Why does Picture Stories go last?
Because it is the only quiet game on the list. The storyteller gives one clue, everybody plays a picture that could pass for it, and the votes decide — a night that ends on more shouting does not really end.
